I'm Sarah Houser—a dedicated educator and passionate advocate for transforming the lives of struggling readers through Designed to Learn.

Designed to Learn is more than just a company—it's a transformative journey where research, compassion, and the pursuit of academic success converge to create a brighter future for all learners.

My Story

Hi there! I'm a teacher with lots of experience in elementary education. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I also have a special certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), which means I'm really good at helping students with their learning needs.

I've been a teacher for almost ten years, and during that time, I've had the joy of teaching students in all different grades. This experience has given me a great understanding of the challenges students face and the best ways to help them succeed.

One thing I'm really passionate about is structured literacy, which is a special way of teaching reading. I've been teaching this method for six years, and I've seen how it can really make a difference for students. It helps them become better readers and reach their full potential in school. I make sure to use the latest research and best practices to make my teaching effective and efficient.

I'm here to help all of my students learn and grow, and I'm excited to work with you, too! Let's have a great time learning together!

Our Logo

The logo of Designed to Learn is a visual representation of our core values and the significance of reading as the foundation of learning. The logo incorporates elements that symbolize the essence of our mission and the transformative power of education.

At the heart of the logo, the vibrant color PURPLE embodies imagination. We believe that reading sparks creativity, opens new worlds, and nurtures the boundless imagination of learners. It represents the limitless possibilities and the journey of exploration that reading offers to individuals.

The soothing shade of TEAL in our logo represents renewal. Reading provides an opportunity for personal growth, development, and continuous learning. It symbolizes the transformative effect that reading has on individuals, enabling them to renew their knowledge, perspectives, and understanding of the world around them.

CORAL, a warm and inviting hue, represents acceptance. We believe in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where individuals of all backgrounds and abilities are embraced and valued. Reading promotes empathy, understanding, and acceptance of diverse experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

Together, these colors intertwine to form the logo of Designed to Learn, capturing the essence of our commitment to empowering learners through reading. The logo serves as a reminder of the powerful combination of imagination, renewal, and acceptance that reading brings to individuals' lives. It embodies our dedication to fostering a love for reading, nurturing growth, and creating an inclusive space for all learners to thrive.

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
